Pathology of Acute Tonsillitis

There are many symptoms that arise due to acute tonsillitis, usually something like: sore throat, painful swallowing, and sometimes patients do not want to drink or eat by mouth. Treatment of Acute Tonsillitis
We recommend bed rest patients, should get adequate nutrition, body fluids should always be maintained in good condition, and stimulate throat.
Analgesics are given to reduce fever and relieve headaches. In the market many outstanding analgesic (paracetamol) which is combined with Kofein, which serves to refresh the body.
If the cause of the tonsillitis is bacteria then antibiotics should be given. Drug of choice is penicillin. Sometimes also used erythromycin. Ideally, antibiotics are given according to the culture results. Antibiotics are given between 5 to 10 days.
If through culture known that the source of infection is streptococcus group A beta hemolytic, antibiotic therapy should be accomplished 10 days to prevent possible complications of nephritis and rheumatic heart disease. Sometimes it takes an injection of benzathine penicillin 1.2 million units intramuscularly if the estimated treatment is inadequate.
