Diabetes Melitus Definition

Diabetes mellitus often referred to as blood sugar disease or diabetes. Called diabetes because diabetics when peeing in any place, then that place will be surrounded by ants like sweet sugar.

Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by the inability of the pancreas to produce insulin organ to decompose glucose in the body. Inability is mainly due to excessive consumption of glucose so glucose builds up in the blood and the body's lack of insulin to break it down.






Causes of Diabetes

Main cause of diabetes mellitus is lifestyle and wrong diet. Ie lifestyle by eating a lot but not balanced, a little activity, less exercise and others. With disruption of insulin production system in pancreatic organ, the entire food and drink into the body, can not be controlled and eventually the accumulation of sugar or glucose in the blood.

Symptoms of Diabetes

  6. Always feel thirsty and want to drink water constantly, such as dehydration. 
  7. Tingling pain in the hands and feet. 
  8. Visually impaired and began myopic. 
  9. The surface of the skin to infections. 
  10. When people with diabetes have wounds on the surface of the skin, the wound is usually very difficult to cure. 
  11. Itching of the skin surface.  
  12. Latest diabetes symptoms are swelling in the legs. 

Prevention of Diabetes Mellitus


Diabetes cure has not been found. But there is a pretty effective way to control blood sugar levels in order not to increase dramatically. People with diabetes can practice to monitor and control the sugar levels on a regular basis.

The essence of treatment of diabetes is set lifestyle and a healthy diet. Ie, set back lifestyle and diet with more discipline.

There are several lifestyle therapies that can be done for the prevention of diabetes. Here are some patterns of therapy for people with diabetes:


Not eating at night


At night, people with diabetes are encouraged to fast. Because, dinner only produce energy that is not used to the activity.


Do not eat foods containing glucose


Blood sugar disease are allowed to eat fruit, bread, white rice and other foods. However, levels should be reduced in number. Currently the market has provided a variety of alternative foods. Creative market provides a variety of alternative foods for people with blood sugar disease. Ranging from sugar, oil, bread, milk, syrup and so on.


Increase the activity and sport


Exercise is very beneficial to maintaining health. Many diseases will arise if someone lazy to exercise. Exercise to maintain fitness, and beauty. Obese people are more vulnerable to disease. Obesity can be overcome either by exercising regularly.

For people with diabetes, exercise can help burn the body, which will reduce the buildup of glucose in the body.

Many people with the blood sugar disease are obese or overweight. In this case, diabetes prevention may hinge on weight loss. Each kg of weight loss can improve our health. One study reported that. overweight adults reduce the risk of diabetes by 16 percent for every kilogram of body weight lost. Also, they can reduce the risk of diabetes almost 60 percent in three years if the weight loss of 5 to 10 percent of initial body weight and exercising regularly.

Preventing diabetes with diet


Religion teaches us that there must be a cure all diseases. That a diabetes cure has not been found does not mean that the disease can not be prevented. We can still prevent this diabetes.


 


Basically, according to experts, people with diabetes mellitus remains should not eat any food, but with certain rules. Preventing diabetes with diet,
schedule,  number, and type.

 Schedule. The main problem people with diabetes is the accumulation of glucose in the blood due to the lack of proper feeding schedule. Therefore, people with diabetes are encouraged to schedule a meal. Ie, divided into 6 meals. Three for a great meal (morning, afternoon and evening) and three light meals between those times.

Number. Keep the number of servings in the food or feed. Eat small portions but enough with the routine. The principle is the total calorie requirement for a sufficient time to go eat the next meal schedule. Example of a small portion of the breakfast sufficient calories to eat a light schedule at 10 am the next example.

Types. Be careful in choosing the food menu. Some foods can raise blood sugar levels with ease. Eg food sources of carbohydrates such as rice, noodles, bread and other wheat products processed. Eat only small meals alone or if need be avoided. Suggested types of food are fiber-rich foods such as vegetables and fruits.


Healthcare is expensive. Right? But many of us only realized when we are sick. Diabetes mellitus and its complications, is one of the "expensive disease" and many sufferers drain funds. Understanding the causes, symptoms and prevention of diabetes mellitus will help us all avoid this disease.
